April 2012: Retrospecticus

April 30, 2012

It’s the end of April. You should be birding. Why aren’t you?

Things that happened this month include picking up a new Triangle area bird, Common Gallinule, nee Moorhen.  Sweet!

Noah also got up close and personal with a Mole Kingsnake, which is a pretty awesome reptile.

I got a new camera, but it doesn’t make the birds come out of the trees, which is something of a disappointment.

There was an Elaenia in Chicago, but no one knows what it is and they may never.  How’s that for obnoxious?

There’s a nesting Yellow-crowned Night Heron not far from my home.

And I did some birding which, this time of year, is pretty good.

Hey, May is coming!  See you then.  And thanks for reading and commenting!
