The Drinking Bird does India
Geez, this was supposed to go out some days ago. I’m actually on my way home now. Most if it is still relevant though.
As I type this, I’m sitting in Dubai International Airport late in the evening. By the time this posts, I’ll be in the wilds of Gujarat, India, hopefully looking for Sarus Cranes and Lanner Falcons but probably more likely trying to get a shower and a meal after traveling for 24 straight hours.
I’m attending the 3rd Annual Global Bird-watching Conference as a representative of the ABA. I’m here for a remarkably short time (just barely enough to make the epic flights worth it), but long enough that I should be able to add some incredible birds to my life list, as well as countless boring Asian warblers, Prinias, Babblers, and loads of confusing bland species that will probably leave me flailing as someone with absolutely no Asian birding experiene.
Anyway, I write this as a explanation as to why you won’t be seeing much from me over the next few days (Or maybe you will, who knows what the internet situation is going to be), but when I come back. Oh man. Ooooooooh man.
See you soon.
