May 2009: Retrospecticus
This has, for pretty obvious reasons, been a slow month on The Drinking Bird. For that, I apologize, but it has been a pretty exciting month personally for me, with the birth of the future baby birder, and the subsequent attempt to fit the strands of our prior life into this new one.
It’s coming along, and I’m confident that I’ll strike the right balance.
But in the meantime, I had some other cool stuff happen, from a some great banding experiences to a phenomenal warbler day.
I announced my new position as eBird reviewer for North Carolina, so if any of you out there see some good birds in Carolina, let’s have some notes, huh?
I celebrated the fledging of the baby Red-shouldered Hawks in my backyard.
Complained about a gun control issue that should have been fixed.
And hosted the 100th I and the Bird, a real honor, but held not here, but at my other blog.
So all in all a busier month than maybe it should be been. See you next month!

And, you survived a week and a half with the proud grandparents in your home and you both seemed to remain sane! Thanks!
