January: Retrospecticus

My best month ever at The Drinking Bird and a great start to the new year. Some highlights…
I started what will likely be a futile attempt at the NC Big Year, but it did get me out in the field alot.
I finally joined my local bird club.
I played with my friend Dave’s new listing software. (Go check it out if you haven’t!).
I played some politics and some games.
And towards the end, I found a pretty cool bird.
Turns out there are other interesting birds in the state these days too, including NC’s first Scott’s Oriole. Come back next month to see if I can get it.
